Why Your Shop Needs an Occasional Commercial Clean

Your retail premises undoubtedly already have a cleaning schedule, and most of this can be achieved rather quickly at the end of the working day. Vacuuming, dusting (and you might wish to invest in some electrostatic dust brushes that allow you to dust your retail stock without moving it), mopping, the polishing of glass display cases — it's not exactly complex, although it's not a task that anyone relishes. These tasks will generally be performed daily, with more labour intensive cleaning jobs perhaps performed weekly. But is this going to be enough? An occasional commercial cleaning service will be a beneficial addition to your own cleaning efforts.

Deciding How Often You Should Use a Professional Cleaner

The frequency of the service will depend on the size of your premises and the amount of regular foot traffic. You might opt to engage a monthly commercial cleaning service to complement your own daily cleaning and weekly cleaning commitments. Commercial cleaning services will not only make your premises more presentable but more hygenic. It's at your discretion how often such a service should be performed, and it might end up being more or less often than you originally envisioned.

A Focus on Your Floors

At a minimum, floors should be heat cleaned, with steam vacuuming on carpeted surfaces and upholstery, and a steam mop on tiled floors and grouting. You could certainly rent the equipment and do this work yourself, but in terms of time and cost-effectiveness, not to mention the fact that professional cleaners know how best to use the equipment, then you're far better off utilising the services of professionals.

Additional, Less Frequent Cleaning

The professional cleaning of your retail space will need to be periodically expanded to include areas that require cleaning, but perhaps don't need a monthly deep clean. What should this include? The breakroom fridge warrants attention. It can be wiped clean and pressure washed (on a low setting). The same goes for your breakroom stove if one is present. HVAC filters can be removed from air conditioning ducts, washed, dried and reinstalled. These tasks don't need to be done each time a commercial cleaner visits your premises, but they should be periodically cycled into the cleaning duties every few visits, or as needed.

Even though you have the ability to clean your retail premises and make the space look presentable, a deep cleaning that offers a more hygenic result is very much worth the investment.
